I want to be useful when the case becomes more complex — without becoming a threat to the referring relationship.
My focus is prosthodontic, aesthetic, restorative and implant care. Referrals can be limited to one question, one procedure, one phase of treatment or expanded specialist management when appropriate.
A specialist resource, not a competing general practice.
When a patient is referred for a defined problem, I respect that scope. The referring dentist remains central to the patient’s continuing general care unless another arrangement is specifically requested.
Clear communication, treatment sequencing and return of the patient are part of the referral — not an afterthought.
Cases where I may be useful
Complex aesthetic cases
Smile design, multiple anterior restorations, replacement of unsatisfactory veneers/crowns, worn anterior teeth, smile cant or mixed restorative concerns.
Worn or failing dentitions
Generalized wear, repeated fractures, heavily restored teeth, loss of restorative space and cases where vertical dimension may need to be reconsidered.
Implant treatment
Implant planning, selected surgical placement, single/multiple restorations, implant overdentures and full-arch fixed treatment.
Removable prosthodontics
Difficult complete/partial dentures, immediate dentures, overdentures and transition from terminal dentition to a maintainable prosthesis.
Retreatment
Previous restorative or implant dentistry that is failing mechanically, biologically, aesthetically or functionally.
Treatment planning
Cases with several reasonable pathways where diagnosis, sequencing, prognosis and patient priorities need to be brought together before treatment begins.
Better treatment begins with thoughtful collaboration.
Complex cases benefit from shared expertise, clear communication and a coordinated plan centred on the patient.
How collaboration can work
Consultation only. I assess the case, discuss options and return the patient for treatment with the referring dentist when appropriate.
Procedure-specific referral. I complete the defined prosthodontic, implant or restorative component and return the patient for continuing care.
Shared treatment. We divide the case according to scope and expertise — for example, endodontic treatment with the GP/endodontist, implant/prosthodontic treatment with me, and maintenance with the referring practice.
Comprehensive specialist management. For selected complex rehabilitations, I can coordinate multiple phases while keeping the referring dentist informed.
I welcome a quick professional discussion before referral when the question is simply: “Is this a case you would want to see?”
Different philosophies, common ground
I am comfortable collaborating with general dentists and with colleagues whose practices identify as biological, holistic, functional, integrative, minimally invasive or biomimetic-minded.
Those terms can mean different things in different practices. The common ground I look for is straightforward: preserve healthy tissues where reasonable, understand the patient’s priorities, explain trade-offs, select materials thoughtfully, and do not use a philosophy as a substitute for diagnosis.
Make the referral easy.
The form below is intentionally short. It gives me enough information to anticipate appointment length, likely records and the main clinical question without asking you to complete a long intake form.
Please do not upload records or enter detailed medical information here. After review, the appropriate clinic can arrange secure transfer of radiographs, scans, photographs or implant information.
Prefer to discuss the case first?
A short professional conversation can establish whether I am the right person to see the patient and what information would be most useful at the first appointment.
